The great thing about strength training is you can start with what you have: your body weight! Examples of compound exercises include:

At Home
If you don’t have access to a gym (or don’t want to go to one) you can easily perform a strength training workout at home with

A standard gym will have all the free weights and machines you need to complete a total body workout for all major muscle groups.
